I am a resident and homeowner in Churchfields Estate in Ashbourne. There are no current large green spaces within the whole of Ashbourne to walk or exercise in. The town is desperate for this development especially given the last 18 months everyone has had. The pandemic has highlight how little amenities Ashbourne has to promote healthy lifestyleand exercise and community interaction. With all the gyms closed, this park would have given the community a perfect place to get away from being stuck at working. This park would provide more social interaction among the community with play grounds and football pitch on site. The town does not need more housing developments in this currently over crowded area of Ashbourne. It is very disappointing to see more residential planning proposals popping up around the town on many small sites. We will very soon be looking at Ashbourne as a concrete jungle. The park also has many positive environmental factors if kept as a green space too.
